VT461L - 2 mil Aluminum Foil Tape, with Liner

VT461L is 3M's 1520cw tape, good up to 250°F

This is a dead-soft aluminum foil tape on liner. Uses include sheet metal ductwork taping and excellent conformance to irregular or curved surfaces. Temperature range is excellent and performs well in a variety of extreme humidity applications as well. Tape has superior durability and performance characteristics.

May be used in temperatures from -40°F to 250°F and is single coated (adhesive on one side) with a solvent acrylic-based adhesive system. The dead-soft foil and thin substrate wrap around complex curves and surfaces, or other irregularly shaped objects.

The liner is an easy-release system and allows for fast unwinding and cutting. It also reduces wrinkling while unwinding, if aesthetic concerns are important.

Rolls are 50 yards long and can be cut in custom widths upon request.

  • Masking 101 Helpful Hints
    • Push down hard! This is a pressure sensitive adhesive tape - pressure is required for it to adhere properly to parts.
    • Anodizers: Clean lines are best achieved by masking parts 24 hours BEFORE anodizing.
    • Clean parts thoroughly before applying tape.
    • Apply tape to dry surfaces only.
    • Use paper or aluminum foil to cover a large surface area for less money; tape edges down.
    • Tape is for intermittent, one-time use only.
    • Store rolls on end in a cool, dry place.
    • Shelf life is 12 months from date of purchase.
