Red Polyester Plating Tape, 400°F

This red polyester plating tape (VRPT) offers the ultimate in masking stop-off for electroplating. The carrier is thin for good conformability, and it has a thick adhesive that flows well into microscopic cracks and crevices to provide superb plating masking. This is a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, push down to activate adhesive.

This tape has a 1 mil polyester backing and a 3 mil modified silicone adhesive (4 mil total thickness). It is used for plating, anodizing and splicing.

This is a Plating Masking Tape with the following characteristics:

  • Ideal for protecting printed circuit boards from harsh chemicals during plating.
  • Can be used in either direct immersion or fume/splash protection.
  • In stock and may be slit to any width and/or die cut to any shape.

Rolls are 72 yards long and can be cut in custom widths upon request. Viadon slits all tapes in-house! PLEASE Contact Us if you do not see the width of tape you need listed below. Single roll and case quantities are available.

  • Masking 101 Helpful Hints
    • Push down hard! This is a pressure sensitive adhesive tape - pressure is required for it to adhere properly to parts.
    • Clean parts thoroughly before applying tape.
    • Apply tape to dry surfaces only.
    • Use paper or aluminum foil to cover a large surface area; tape edges down.
    • Tape is for intermittent, one-time use only.
    • Store rolls on end in a cool, dry place.
    • Shelf life is 12 months from date of purchase.
