Tapered Flange Plugs, 600°F (powder coating, e-coating, anodizing, plating, painting, thermal spray, grit blasting)

Viadon's silicone tapered flange plugs (TFP's) are recommended for powder coating, e-coating, anodizing and plating. Providing a concentric mask around a hole, these silicone masking aids are ideal for establishing grounding surfaces. They have also been used successfully to insulate wiring and wire harnesses (by clipping the end off the plug and feeding the wires through it).

Able to withstand temperatures of 600°F / 315°C, TFP's are a unique solution to a challenging problem for many metal finishers.

  • Masking 101 Helpful Hints

    Silicone Tapered Flange Plugs (TFP's) are a tapered cap/plug with flange bottom. These plugs fit best when the "D" dimension is 2 - 4% smaller than the stud or thread they are used to mask. Look for a "B"" dimension that is 2 - 5% larger than the hole when using them as a plug.

    • Ideal for use in powder coating, e-coating, plating, and anodizing.
    • Use in temperatures up to 600°F / 315°C.
    • Silicone Tapered Flange Plugs can be used both as a cap or a plug.
    • The washer area provides a grounding area around the base of holes and studs.
