These plugs are specifically designed for the most common thread sizes, and we carry the most popular ones from 6-32 & M4 through other commmon sizes like 1/4-20 and M10 even up to M20.

The straight wall of the plug section stays firmly in place, being sized specifically for each internal thread dimension. And the top flange perfectly masks off the lead thread of a hole, allowing for perfectly masked threaded holes each and every time.

Made from fully cured silicone to avoid leaching into plating tanks, or for use in powder coating, e-coating, plating, and anodizing. These plugs can withstand temperatures up to 600°F / 315°C.

  • Masking 101 Helpful Hints

Identifying the correct thread makes selecting the right plug quick and easy. Check the chart on the "Available Products" tab to see which plug is best for a given threaded hole. Then insert the plug fully, ensuring that the upper flange area is fully seated on the first thread of the tapped hole.

    • VTMP's are ideal for use in powder coating, e-coating, plating, and anodizing.
    • VTMP's offer excellent high temperature and good chemical resistance.
    • Bottom diameter should be 15% smaller than the hole diameter, for best fit.
    • Twist slightly to fully "seat" plug flange on first threads.
    • Use handle to quickly remove plugs when finishing is complete.
