Green polyester high temp powder coating masking tape is the most-used tape for powder coating. But not all green poly is made equal - even though they may appear the same.
Viadon's silicone-adhesive, green polyester tapes are American-made. They also cut easily, adheres quickly, resist shrinking and provide clean removal when used at 400F or less for up to 60 minutes.
Not all green poly tapes perform like that.
And here's a few tips to get the most out of our VGT215 series tape:
When possible and for the best results, remove this tape while parts are still warm. If removing from cold surfaces, pull tape at a 90 degree angle for best results to avoid tape splintering during removal.
For large areas, particularly ones that have an open area inside (like a valve cover, for example), be sure to 1) apply to a clean surface and 2) press down on the tape for better adhesion (it's a pressure sensitive adhesive tape - it needs some moderate pressure with a finger pressing down or a rubber squeegee tool to activate the adhesive).
