Masking 101 Helpful Hints
- Push down hard! This is a pressure sensitive adhesive tape - pressure is required for it to adhere properly to parts.
- Anodizers: Clean lines are best achieved by masking parts 24 hours BEFORE anodizing.
- Clean parts thoroughly before applying tape.
- Apply tape to dry surfaces only.
- Use paper or aluminum foil to cover a large surface area for less money; tape edges down.
- Tape is for intermittent, one-time use only.
- Store rolls on end in a cool, dry place.
- Shelf life is 12 months from date of purchase.
400°F High Temperature Masking Tape FAQ's
- • What is the temperature limit for green polyester tape? Our VGT215 series is rated for up to 400°F (204°C) for 60 minutes, making it ideal for standard powder coating cure cycles.
- • Is this tape chemically resistant? For sure - it is used routinely in Type 2 sulfuric acid anodizing baths and nickel and chrome plating operations as well.
- • Can I get a width that isn't listed in the table? Yes! We slit all our green poly tape in-house from 58" log rolls. We can provide custom imperial or metric widths tailored to your specific masking needs.
- • Do you offer this material in pre-cut shapes? Absolutely. If manually cutting of tape rolls isnn't efficient for masking parts, we offer Custom Die Cuts and standard Die Cut Disks in this same high-temp green polyester material.
